In order to promote scholarly activity in the life sciences, the Department of Biology at Stephen F. Austin Sate University has created a fund to provide scholarships to freshman students who demonstrate excellent potential for success at the university level.
The amount of the scholarship is $750, applied to the freshman year as follows; $250 for the Fall semester and $500 for the Spring semester. The number of scholarships awarded is limited by available funds.
Minimum requirements:
Student must study biology as a major, have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and an ACT / SAT score of 24 / 1100.
To apply, you should submit the following:
A copy of your high school transcript.
A copy of your ACT / SAT scores.
Three letters of recommenadation.
A letter of application explaining your career plans and choice of biology as a field of study.
Deadline February 1, 2008.

High school seniors can apply for a Koh Family Engineering Scholarship worth $10,000 per year (up to $22,000 per year in combination with other scholarships), for the study of undergraduate engineering at Texas Tech.
