6th Grade World Cultures Syllabus
In sixth grade Social Studies, students study people, places, and societies of the contemporary world. A variety of primary and secondary materials support the learning of required content and skills. Societies selected for study are chosen from the following regions of the world: the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
7th Grade Texas History Syllabus
In grade seven social studies, students study the history of Texas from early times to present. Students examine the full scope of Texas history, including the cultures of Native Americans living in Texas prior to European exploration and the eras of mission building, colonization, revolution, republic, statehood and the emergence from an agricultural to industrial society. Students use primary and secondary sources to acquire information about Texas.
8th Grade American History Syllabus
In Grade 8, students study the history of the United States from the early colonial period through Reconstruction. Historical content focuses on the political, economic, and social events and issues related to the colonial and revolutionary eras, the creation and ratification of the U.S. Constitution, challenges of the early Republic, westward expansion, sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction.
12th Grade American Government
This course has two objectives. The first is to teach you the nuts and bolts of U.S., state, and local government. Second, and more important, it seeks to develop the analytical skills needed to help make better sense of government and the subsequent impact government has in our daily lives.
